Trump Could Secure a Peace Deal with Putin, But It Won’t Last, Says Gen. Jack Keane

Retired General Jack Keane recently appeared on Fox News to discuss the potential for former President Donald Trump to broker a peace agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the ongoing war in Ukraine. While Keane acknowledged that Trump could likely reach a deal, he cautioned that such an agreement would not be permanent.

Keane explained that Putin does not truly seek peace and would likely use any ceasefire as a strategic pause, waiting until Trump leaves office to resume his aggression against Ukraine. His ultimate goal, according to Keane, remains the overthrow of the Ukrainian government and the full control of the country.

Despite Putin’s ambitions, Keane emphasized that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has been a strategic failure, placing immense pressure on Putin both politically and personally.

As a solution, Keane suggested that NATO should establish a strong Ukrainian air force once a peace agreement is in place. This, he argued, would serve as a deterrent against future Russian aggression and make it significantly harder for Putin to restart his campaign.

Keane’s full interview on Fox News delves deeper into these issues, offering his expert analysis on the geopolitical stakes of the Ukraine war.
