Trump Silences CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Reporters Burst Into Laughter

 So much for media solidarity.

CNN’s chief White House correspondent, Kaitlan Collins, found herself publicly shut down by former President Donald Trump during a heated Oval Office exchange on Thursday. Her probing questions about Russia’s war in Ukraine led to a scathing rebuke from Trump, drawing laughter from reporters in the room.

The back-and-forth began when Trump was asked about his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and whether he believed Putin truly wanted peace. The Russia-Ukraine conflict, which ignited with the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and escalated to a full-scale invasion in 2022, remains one of the world’s most pressing crises.

Trump confidently asserted that Putin was indeed interested in peace, prompting Collins to fire off a sharp follow-up: “Do you trust President Putin?”

Trump, unimpressed, immediately shut her down, branding her a friend of former President Joe Biden and shifting blame for the war onto the current administration. He then took the opportunity to mock CNN’s credibility.

“I believe that, uh yeah, I believe that he would like to see something happen. I trust him on the subject. I think he’d like to see something happen. I think it could have happened a long time ago. I think Biden… number one, it shouldn’t have started, but it did. And now all those cities are knocked down like demolition sites,” Trump said, speaking over Collins as she tried to interject.

“All those beautiful golden towers are knocked down. There’s nothing going to replace them. But much more importantly, you lost millions of people. A lot of soldiers, but you lost millions of people. When they knocked down those cities, and they’re all laying down on the side, they’re laying down in ashes, and all crumbled up concrete, they literally look like a world-class demolition site,” he continued.

Trump then circled back to his criticism of Biden, adding, “And many of them, almost all of them, but many of them. And this should have been done by Biden years ago. This should have never been allowed to happen.” Then, looking straight at Collins, he jabbed, “I know he’s a friend of yours.”

Collins, unfazed, attempted another question: “But couldn’t Putin just withdraw his…”

She was swiftly cut off again as Trump quipped, “He’s a friend of CNN, and that’s why nobody watches CNN anymore because they have no credibility.”

The room erupted in laughter, drowning out Collins and leaving her questions unanswered. The moment once again showcased Trump’s combative relationship with CNN and his skill at commanding the room—even in the face of tough questioning.

In another moment of media confrontation, Trump had just signed his executive order on Reciprocal Tariffs when Collins attempted to ask about tariffs driving up prices.

Trump quickly shut her down: “Excuse me, we haven’t asked you to speak yet, please.”

Watch:

BOOM! This is the Trump I love.

You know, I’ve never seen Kaitlin Collins nor anyone else in the garbage media so concerned about prices going up than they are now. We just had record inflation under Joe Biden, and they were all asleep at the wheel. But now that Trump is president, suddenly they care about prices.
